So I was able to pick up "The Woods" issue #3. I haven't read the first two, so if I'm missing out, please let me know how good this is. As far as number 3 goes for a stand alone perspective, I couldn't get committed to this comic. While the art from Michael Dialynas (Amala's Blade, Trinkets) was comically detailed and enjoyable to look at, James Tynion IV (author & creator) didn't sell me on the dialogue nor the presence. These children are supposed to be the most scared they've ever been in their lives, but they play it cool, like young adults in a bad horror film. Nobody is going to believe that normal people without some sort of end all incentive, is going to go out into these woods to risk their lives like they do. It makes for a good plot, but where is the setting realism Tynion is trying to capture? I'm assuming he wants a realistic feeling after reading the cliche sentences our adventurers are so clever with. I don't suggest buying this comic book unless, like I said earlier, I'm missing out with the first two issues. I'm not a huge fan with what Boom! puts out, but let me know what you think! Please comment about how you feel if you've read this book, or if you think this review sucked, tell me what I can do better. Any form of input is appreciated! Fan/Follower suggestions for the next comicbook I do will be taken mainly from comicboiztalk.com, but I'll be reading all of the suggestions from Instagram, comicboizreviewz.tumblr.com, and on twitter or facebook. Please help us expand the community by interacting with all of our outposts! Thank you for reading and have a super day!
